IntrathecalThe intrathecal space is the area between the thin layers of tissue that surround the brain and spinal cord. This space is filled with a liquid called cerebrospinal fluid. Medicines can be delivered into the intrathecal space with a needle or through a thin flexible tube called a catheter.
