We work with Delta Dental of Washington to offer you dental coverage when paired with one of our direct individual plans. Both of the following options fulfill the federal mandate to provide pediatric dental coverage to anyone under age 19.
The adult/family plan includes dental coverage for those over age 19 and those under age 19. This plan is available for adults and families who purchase their medical plan direct from Kaiser Permanente.
The pediatric-only plan includes dental coverage only for those under age 19.
These plans are available only if you purchase your medical plan direct from Kaiser Permanente.
If you purchase your medical plan through Washington Healthplanfinder and are under age 19 or have dependents under age 19, you must purchase pediatric dental coverage there.

For Members Enrolling Direct With Kaiser Permanente
If you like your current medical plan and are not making a change during open enrollment — but want one of our dental plans — complete and submit the dental application (PDF).
If you want to select a new medical plan and want one of our dental plans, complete and submit the 2018 individual and family enrollment application.
You can buy pediatric dental coverage from another carrier. If you do this, you must submit two things to Kaiser Permanente within 60 days of health plan effective date:
- Completed 2018 pediatric dental attestation
- Proof of coverage from the alternative carrier
How to Cancel Your Current Dental Plan
If you want to cancel your current dental coverage, contact Member Services.
You can cancel dental coverage anytime during the year if you are age 19 and older. You cannot begin coverage again until the next open enrollment or if you have a qualifying event.
