Philosophy of care: I believe in a collaborative approach to patient care, working with my patients to promote their own health and to identify any diseases or barriers. I see trust and effective communication as the key elements of the doctor-patient relationship.

Medical interests: Obstetrics, vasectomy, women's health, and care of the older patient.
Personal interests: I am married and have a young daughter. I enjoy hiking, skiing, tennis, and travel.
Statement: I love practicing full-spectrum family medicine in the patient-centered medical home of Kaiser Permanente. I have always thrived professionally on being in an academic environment, both as a student and as a teacher. This has included being the chief resident in a residency program, teaching at a Japanese medical school, being faculty at a family residency program, as well as clinical teaching in developing countries.
