Taryn Hansen, MD
Taryn graduated from Oregon Health Sciences University. During her time at OHSU, she not only excelled academically, but also received service awards for co-founding a student-run clinic and leading the school's largest volunteer project. Prior to medical school, Taryn received a BA in Biology from Portland State and a BA in Biochemistry from the University of Kansas. She has worked as a senatorial legislative aide in Washington DC and as a patient resource program manager through AmeriCorps. The 9/11 attacks occurred while Taryn was in DC. This event, coupled with experiences she had growing up in a small Oregon mill town, motivated Taryn to embark on a career in medicine and a commitment to the underserved.
Taryn has two kids, aged two and five. She enjoys time with them, as well as biking, Mediterranean cookery and vegetarian food, camping, hiking, reading, theater and yoga.
